You may have heard of New Age folk speaking of energy influxes on certain dates and times – not least the Dec 21st 2012 date that is widely anticipated as a very key date.
Well this weekend it seems we have the second Harmonic Convergence on 17th and 18th July 2010: The Conscious or Cosmic Convergence as it appears to be called.

They say it’s for those that are willing to set the intention to create unity consciousness in the ninth wave of the Mayan calendar system. According to the ancient Maya the creation of the universe is effected by nine waves, and we are now approaching the end of the eighth wave and, on top of this, the activation of the ninth and highest level that will cap off the evolution of the universe. This ninth level of the universe is designed to generate unity consciousness. The manifestation of the unity consciousness catalysed by the ninth level will require an intention on the part of human beings to co-create this.
Now, I know that some who read my blog may be sceptical and may find this just waaaay too wacky!
I do know what you mean if you feel this way, but here is what I have to say about that:
For myself, I used to be very sceptical about these sorts of things because I used to wear a very analytical and conditioned hat about life, the universe and everything. But in recent years the hat has gone, and not only that, I’ve received proof myself of what is beyond our mental doubts and beliefs, and the power of creative and energetic forces around us.
I’ll give you one small example.
Last year, 9th September 2009 (9.9.9) was claimed to have been another special date, not least because of the significance of the number nine and the synchronicity of this date (three nines), but because it was the build-up phase to the Ninth level mentioned above, which is what the Cosmic Convergence – this weekend – is supposed to initiate. On 9.9.9. there was meant to be a massive influx of energy.
Now I didn’t do anything ‘extra spiritual’ or anything like that on that date, I was just aware of some of what was being said – and anticipated – on this date. Anyway, the date came and went, and I think it was the day after, on the 10th (or it might even have been the 9th I can’t remember), I woke up and there was one thing that had changed for me.
I just could no longer put meat or fish into my mouth. And I haven’t eaten meat or fish since that day. It’s not even as if I have to TRY to be vegetarian, I just can’t eat meat or fish. And I hadn’t been thinking about stopping eat meat and fish and it’s by no means some moral stance. But it was very clear that my body had spoken – no more meat and no more fish! It’s a physical thing in the body, as opposed to a mental decision. I will eat a little gravy, and I like the smell of a BBQ for eg, but to actually eat any solid solid meat or fish – Well, I think I would gag. It’s interesting because I had no trouble enjoying a good chicken curry or prawn cocktail right up to that date.
So was it a coincidence, or was it something to do with energy shifts and influxes during the 9.9.9 date?
Personally, I feel that energies are definitely shifting on the planet and affecting people in ways that cannot be explained merely through black and white proof or scientific analysis. So I do feel that whatever energies came into play on 9.9.9. was what shifted my palette. This is also because I had been veggie for 5 years in my twenties, but this was largely a moral stance, and wasn’t easy, I often wanted to eat meat but would stop myself. However this time around, it’s almost like a physical barrier between me and any morsels of meat or fish that may come towards me – no effort required.
And this is the way that consciousness shifts – unseen usually to the naked human eye, sudden and effortless.
So, let’s look at what is said to be the significance of the Cosmic Convergence this weekend.
What is anticipated is that a wave movement of a very high frequency (the Ninth level) will start to transform the collective consciousness in such a way that eventually we will see the world in an entirely different light, and as the Ninth level is finally activated our identities will come to be defined in a much expanded spiritual framework. Remember the 17th and 18th July is the initiating of this ninth wave – it is not all going to happen in one weekend, but is supposedly the start of something radical.
The anticipation is that Unity consciousness will begin to become very activated and be brought into people’s psyche, such that eventually there will be an end to all forms of dominance of one human over another. This will result in collapses of instruments of dominance, such as the current financial system, weapons, war, national borders and many other structures upholding authority (we are seeing some of this happening already). The new world is to be one where divine harmony characterizes human relations. ‘Business as usual’ will be no more. Instead we will need to approach the birth of the new world consciously and with an intention of co-creating it in a positive sense – unconscious reactions will no longer suffice.
So what are your thoughts on this? New Age clap trap and wishful thinking, or do you actually feel that something big is happening along the lines of such radical change? Several people have said to me in the last year that they just feel in their bones that something big is going on, but they just can’t put their finger on it. Harmonic Convergence is a New Age astrological term applied to a planetary alignment which occurred on August 16 to 17 1987.
The timing of the Harmonic Convergence allegedly correlated with the Maya calendar, with some consideration also given to European and Asian astrological traditions. The chosen dates have the distinction of allegedly marking a planetary alignment with the Sun, Moon and six out of eight planets being “part of the grand trine”.
The convergence is purported to have “corresponded with a great shift in the earth’s energy from warlike to peaceful.”
Believers of this esoteric prophecy maintain that the Harmonic Convergence ushered in a five-year period of Earth’s “cleansing”, where many of the planet’s “false structures of separation” would collapse.
An important part of the Harmonic Convergence observances was that many people congregated at “power centers.” Power centers were places, such as Mount Shasta, California, and Mount Fuji, where the spiritual energy was held to be particularly strong. The belief was that if 144,000 people assembled at these power centers and meditated for peace, that the arrival of the new era would be facilitated.

How can you not believe in planetary energy influxes if you are paying attention? I think it is not only wonderful but exciting watching many of our brothers and sisters awaken to the power of our collective conscious. The Golden Age will soon be upon us as we peacefully and lovingly re-create our reality and remove the old paradigms that have kept us divided. This new sense of awe just keeps getting better.
