The Ending of Sorrow – Jiddu Krishnamurti
“The ending of sorrow is passion.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti
Jiddu Krishnamurti has a special place in my heart. Of all the spiritual teachers I have spent time listening to and reading, it was he who initially set me on the path of understanding that that I was not my thoughts. That there was an existence beyond the mind, and beyond the intellect. And how thought (belief, intellect) is the root of all problems and destruction.
Sorrow is an interesting topic, albeit one that may make one feel uncomfortable.
Sorrow is something urgent that we need to understand as a species.
There is so much sadness and grief to be let go of, individually and collectively. The time we’re in is calling us to do just that by providing many reasons for us to look at the sorrow that is there.
Here Jiddu Krishnamurti’s incisive words of clarity and deep truth assist with this endeavour – the endeavour of ending sorrow – and then an ‘extraordinary transformation’ can take place.
